Delete your account
Last updated: 2 August 2026
You can delete your rateME account at any time, from inside the app. This page explains how, what happens afterwards and exactly which data is removed.
From inside the app
- Open rateME and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to “Delete account” at the bottom.
- Confirm with your password.
What happens next
- Your account is deactivated immediately. You are signed out on every device and your profile stops appearing in search, suggestions and profile pages.
- You have 30 days to change your mind. Signing in again within that window restores the account and everything in it.
- After 30 days the account is permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.
What gets deleted
- Account details: e-mail address, username, display name, bio, profile photo and social links
- Your ratings, reviews and the images inside them
- Your lists and list items
- Your videos and comments
- Direct messages and conversations
- Follows, likes, saved posts, watchlist and blocks
- Notifications and push notification tokens
Nothing personal is kept afterwards. Anonymous, aggregate figures that cannot identify you — such as a film's community average — may remain, along with records we are legally required to retain.
